Monet

In 1884, Claude Monet stayed in Bordighera, on the Ligurian Riviera, for almost three months, creating 38 paintings that capture the Mediterranean light and local landscapes. Fascinated by exotic vegetation, he immortalized lush gardens, palms, olive trees, and citrus fruits, as in 'Garden at Bordighera'. In Dolceacqua, he painted the medieval bridge, defining it as 'a jewel of lightness'. The brightness and intense colors of the Riviera profoundly influenced his palette and painting style.
